Speed on the Water Notes Paint Shop Opening

December 13, 2014 By NCDN002

Speed on the Water notes the opening of No Coast Custom Paint in their online magazine. Read the article below, or click the link to read the article on Speed on the Water.

Noted high-performance powerboat graphics designer Thomas Kulesia, III, has established his own in-house painting facility called No Coast Custom Paint in Benton Harbor, Mich. Kulesia, who has designed graphics for almost every big-name go-fast builder in the United States, has partnered with Ken Kaminski, and the two will work out of the Flying Colors Aviation facility founded and owned by Kaminski. Previously, Kulesia’s graphic designs had either been executed by in-house staff members at the boat companies or outsourced to full-time painting companies typically specializing in the recreational vehicle and private aircraft markets.

Kulesia designed and managed the graphics application for this SL 50 V-bottom from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats.

Kulesia said he expanded his services so that he can have design-to-execution control of the entire painted graphics process. That way, he can “ensure the project reflects exactly what the rendering and the customer intended,” he said in press release on the new venture.

“The decision to establish our own paint facility was founded in the desire to produce custom paint schemes beyond the expectations of our clients,” Kulesia in the release. “We needed our own facility to allow for complete control over the final product.

“It’s very important that, after months of working on a design, the project be executed properly and that the graphics are delivered with the renderings’ original intent,” he continued. “That is the difference between design and art. Art is subjective and design is evaluated on the intention and execution of the objective.”

No Coast’n for No Coast Design

December 12, 2014 By NCDN002

No Coast Design moves toward new challenges to better serve its clientele.

With new business ventures added to his arsenal of custom paint shops, Thomas Kulesia II, founder and owner, is ready to take NCDN to the next level. The decision to begin handling the painting and management of projects was made for several reasons and means great things are coming for both the business and future clients.

Kulesia has already established No Coast Design as a resource in the custom graphics industry with his design work on Offshore Powerboats, Motor Coaches and Aircraft. His production role was limited to the vinyl stencils used to translate the design from computer to real life holding scale and proportion of the design elements. However, he had to contract with other businesses that had paint facilities to complete the projects. This restricted his ability to make final edits and decisions to properly execute the subtleties of the design renderings.

The decision to establish our own paint facility was founded in the desire to produce custom paint schemes beyond the expectations of our clients. We needed our own facility to allow for greater control over the final product, Kulesia explains.

Now Kulesia can see a project through from start to finish via No Coast Custom Paint, in Benton Harbor, MI. He is looking forward to the opportunity to have more control over the projects and to keep the final details and design translations under his watchful eye. He wants to ensure the project reflects exactly what the rendering and the customer intended.

It’s very important that, after months of working on a design, the project be executed properly and that the project is delivered with the renderings original intent,” says Kulesia, “That is the difference between design and art – art is subjective and design is evaluated on the intention and execution of the objective.

Previously Kulesia focused on communication with the customers and designing the schemes. These days, he will even be doing a portion of the painting himself.

With No Coast Custom Paint, the possibilities for projects and design are now endless for No Coast Design. With the ability to handle entire projects and deliver products beyond customer expectations, Kulesia hopes to see No Coast Design expand into new markets.

No Coast Design is located at 500 State St., Elkhart, IN 46516.  No Coast Custom Paint is located at 612 Woodland Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
